The PTM Bug Hunt
Welcome to the Pear Tree Mead bug hunt competition!
The challenge is pretty simple – go into your garden or any outside space and see what bugs you can find! You can look in hedges, flower beds, trees, long grass, logs, stones, rocks or any other habitat that you might find bugs! If you can’t go outside then have a bug hunt indoors; there are usually a few spiders hiding! If you still can’t spot any bugs inside then you could learn about a habitat or insect online.
Make your bug into a project – if you find a spider or woodlouse, find out all about it. You could draw it and examine it (carefully!), think about what it eats and where it lives. Maybe even write a story or poem about it, design a poster or shoot a video!
Then share your amazing science work with us through:
Prizes will be awarded for the best work in each year group!
