End of Summer 1 Term May 2018
A message from the Head Teacher It’s been a busy half-term for all our staff and children. We are incredibly proud of all of our Year 6 children who have worked so hard for their SAT’s this term. Our Year 2 children have also been working hard to complete their SAT’s over the last couple of weeks. We continue to be proud of all of our children who try their best in all aspects of school life, we can’t ask any more of them. Thankfully, tests are not the only part of school life, we work on children being terrific citizens and well rounded individuals.
We are now looking forward to the next half of the Summer term. The preparations for the Yr2 graduation play and the Yr6 leavers assembly will soon be well underway. There are also many fun whole school events to look forward to.
We have recently sent out another letter to clarify the changes to the school uniform in September 2018. We hope that all parents have received this updated information and are now happy with the proposed changes.
We say a very sad goodbye to Mrs Haigh who is retiring at the end of the Summer term. We will miss her very much and wish her all the best for her retirement. We are really pleased that we have been able to make nee appointments to take over the different aspects of Mrs Haigh’s role. Mrs Martin, will take over as our new SENCO in September and Mrs Arnould will be our new head of Safeguarding. We also look forward to welcoming Ruth Bartlett and Donna Reynolds who will be taking on the new roles of Family Liaison Officer and Assistant Senco respectively. .
We like to thank all of our stakeholders who have been communicated with regarding our new school vision. The responses are currently being collated and our new school vision and values will be announced in September 2018. We will also be looking at ‘rejuvenating;’ our house groups/colours in September 2018 and we look forward to providing you more information on this in due course.
We wish you an enjoyable half-term and we hope that you manage to enjoy some good weather.
Mrs Peden Head Teacher
