At PTMA we thought that we would bring a little bit of French ‘café culture’ to our school by running our very own French café. Children in Yr5/6 were given the chance to play a responsible role in running their very own business through the medium of French. They invited the other children in the school to attend where they were given the opportunity to practise their French.
Each pupil had a say in choosing their job title, ranging from being a ‘maître d’, to a waiter/waitress or a member of the kitchen staff. There were even floor managers on duty who assessed supply and demand and ensured that the whole operation ran smoothly! All ordering of food and drinks was carried out in French while children listened to traditional French music and enjoyed the atmosphere!
Well done to all involved in doing a fabulous and professional job!
